Yarra Bats is an area located adjacent to well-maintained parks and recreation areas, which offers limited amenities but is known to be a popular cruising spot, and has been so for at least four decades.

The area’s barbecues and toilets have been closed for over a decade with no signs of inclination to repair. Despite this, cruisers frequent the area during lunch breaks and after work, and caution should be exercised as the car park is located far from the road, and police have been known to monitor the walking trails.

Yarra Bats is particularly lively during warmer weather and is busiest on weekdays, during tradie lunch breaks from 11 AM - 1 PM, and after tradie knock-off around 3-4 pm, as well as evenings most nights around dusk, according to Google maps data.

The dense maze close to the river and the dry billabong tend to be the busiest spots, and some activity occurs in the car park.

Yarra Bats offers five-star privacy, but it is important to note the hazards present in the area, including tiger snakes, mosquitoes, and platypus (no swimming! Both snakes and platypus are venomous!)
